Quattro

Hi everyone again, this is your friendly neighbourhood pilot-wannabe reporting in after taking a 1 week break from blogging. Before I carry on any further, I would like to send a message out to all pilot wannabes reading this blog from the comfort of your Jandakot accomodations: Get a farking life!! Stop reading my blog and go out and find something more meaningful to do with your f***ing time.

Yes, reading my blog is probably the least meaningful thing you guys can do (given that you are supposed to know whats happening in Jandakot anyway) AND it's the biggest waste of your own time. Why read about my life when you can go and experience your own life?

To the rest of you guys in the heartland, you're cool... at least you've got a reason to be here reading this blog.

Let's see: Lots of things have happened in the last 2 weeks that went by, so I have to gloss over most of the details this time.
I started my marathon/triathlon training schedule as promised. Stuck to it quite well, though I'm going to the gym much more often than scheduled (thanks to Kyle, Vics and Calvin). Found out that there's an excellent night cycling event every monday. Will make an extra effort to get fit enough to catchup to those guys who go at 33-35 km/hr which I know is not that fast, but hey, I'm a begginer okay?

The road bike's nice. It's run in pretty well. Getting used to riding it for the past 2 weeks. Spinning's a new concept for me... But I've probably had the most exciting moments in Jandakot on my bike (discounting the times in my plane of course). Conquered the bike journey to Perth (and made it up to King's Park woohoo!!) and Fremantle thus far. Next stop will be the southern end of Kwinana freeway according to Lawrence and Joshua. Oh yeah. And I bought Kelvar belted tyres for my bike. Which means that the tyres are officially bulletproof. LOL. Like I can use it to fight crime or something. HAHAHAHAHA.

Got a car of my own now. I simply couldn't keep getting Derek/Calvin/Kevin to chauffer me around all the time could I? :D My car's a Maroon colored Mitsubishi Magna under my name, but of course shared with 2 other guys... Strange that I've got a car in Australia but I can't afford squat in Singapore isn't it? And YES... maroon again... I'm addicted to red and all its shades...

Did a few operation 'Hotdogs'. To the uninformed, that means making a few shots at 21 points so that we earn enough for our hotdogs. And quoting Pete the Wise: Its only called gambling if you lose money. Last count, positive inflow... But I'm gonna stem the flow of things for quite some time now.

Spring is here. Note the small yellow flowers pervading the land... This means no more cold toilet seats at night. Don't you just hate toilet seats that freeze your ass when you sit down on them. Putting it in perspective, sometimes in the middle of the night, in some cold hotel room or in the middle of winter, you really need to take a crap, you get to a toilet bowl, sit down, then *bam* it freezes your butt cheeks, and then you get all tense and your a**hole just can't de-clench due to the cold. Awful I tell you. No more of that in spring now luckily.

Can you guess what this is? Its the display panel for an automated self cleaning street-side toilet cubicle. Interestig huh? Best part is that it really doesn't smell half as bad as the ones back home. Mebbe Aussies just have better hygiene standards or something. But only 10 minutes are allowed per 'business transaction' and so you gotta crap really fast if you don't want to be caught with your pants down... Imagine these toilet bowls in winter... De-clenching...

My bike trip where I conquered Perth for the 1st time. Took me all of 45 minutes to reach this place. 20 km one way. 2 ways equals 40 km. 45 minutes per trip. Averaged 28 km/hr. Was quite a long distance and quick pace for me actually, as I'm still learning to spin. But when I hit Perth and later on King's Park, every single push on the pedal was worth it. Swan river was breathtaking to say the least. King's Park was well, nostalgic. It reminded me of my last trip to Perth 6 years ago and of the trips to the hospital that was below King's Park.

The view up from King's Park is majestic. You get a great view of the harbour area of Perth. The winds were quite strong given that its right on top of a hill, but I'd definitely recommend the place for a romantic stroll or nice quiet picnic. Its actually a very touristy place, with some metal tower that is supposed to be
the highest point in Perth or something, but its still worth going up there even if you hate
tourist traps.

This is the entrance of City Gate Apartments on the side of the hill that leads up to King's Park. The ABBA choice of accomodations for loved ones to come over. Its really a great place to stay from what I've heard. It's not exactly a hotel, but its very affordable. Its more like a hostel (I can't seem to get a better shot of the place. Don't complain... Its affordable...)

The CTE. Somewhere along Graham Highway or something, I was transported back to Singapore's CTE. I swear it was the CTE. Everything was exactly the same...

Hotdog day!
Calvin da Zen masta: I want One with Everything...
Pete da Wise One: Its only called gambling if you lose money... And power lah the hotdog!! Got bacon, cheese and onions.
Bernard da Tights Wearing Bicycle Geek: Mmm...... *gurgle* I love onions...
Pete: Oohh... stay away from Bernard's backside we shall...

P.S. I would have loved to photograph a chip, but they were actually all out of chips by the half-time mark that day... not a particularly lucky day that one...

 Tolberone & on & on & on& on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on.... Nuff said. Choco Lovers, eat your hearts out. Kinda reminds me of the Ariston TV ad that used to play on Channel 5 in the 80s. Ariston & on & on... Remember that one?

Calvin doing the agogo dance in some obscure pub near Murdoch. If you need to go to poke your eyes out, we perfectly understand... Just do it after you're done reading this post... Otherwise, Calvin, we love you... We just pity the pole and the next guy using it. :D

Calvin's A1 brand Bak Kut Teh. Excellent stuff. Brand definitely deserves its name. The ribs were very well done too.
Almost the fall-off-the-bone texture kind. SEDAP!! Next time we'll try the peppery clear souped version.

Harry Pothead street from the inside. Nice stuff. Great decor... But generally a tourist shopping trap. Go there at your own peril...

Huge king lobster and its minions... Escapee from World of Warcraft that made it into the real world. LobsterMon. It was the size of half the dinner table I swear.

Our... inspiration. The more inspiring ones are below the T3 mag... I had to use the T3 mag as a censor.

From left to right, we have: 1-Passion Fruit cheese cake. 2-Strawberry cheesecake (or was it shortcake? anyway, it resembles a larger version of the KFC strawberry shortcake that used to be around in the 80s. Remember that one?) 3-Classic Cheese cake. 4-Profita roll cake. Amazing stuff. And based on the cake that we got for Tim's B'dae, Good Stuff... 20 bucks per cake. Value for money.

Saw the rainbow and couldn't resist the shot. There were actually 2 rainbows, one in the other, but its not obvious here.

Why are there so many songs about rainbows
And what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions,
And rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some choose to believe it
I know they're wrong, wait and see.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

Who said that every wish would be heard and answered
when wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that
and someone believed it,
and look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing?
And what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
the lovers, the dreamers and me.

Have you been half asleep
and have you heard voices?
I've heard them calling my name.
Is this the sweet sound that calls the young sailors?
The voice might be one and the same.
I've heard it too many times to ignore it.
It's something that I'm supposed to be.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
the lovers, the dreamers and me.

Fleet of Cessnas against a Vanilla Sky backdrop. Too bad Tom, Penelope and Cameron couldn't be here.

Cut my hair last week or two. The lady who cut my hair did an okay job I guess. But the most interesting thing was not the haircut, but the lanvendula bushes that she had. Spanish Lavender. And they were all having their flowers/flowerpods. I'm gonna come back again to cut my hair in the middle of spring just so that I can catch these lanvender in full bloom. Kissing parakeet were there as well, which were very cute also. I wonder how they survived the winter in the cage. But I'm more amazed by the lavender...

Singapore style Laksa at Taurus Hawker shop. Its GOOD. Almost 100% authentic. Maybe its the lack of fresh coconut milk in Australia in general. Otherwise, its GOOD. The beef brisket is also definitely worth mention here. Solid stuff. You'd be hard pressed to find a shop back home selling equivalent of better beef brisket I tell you.  The prices here are okay too.

Cute huh? I think these ANZ piggy banks are damn cute... You want one June? :D I'll think I'll get me one of these. Got to open a 12 months savings plan to get one. I think that's a good idea. A couple of hundreds put aside a month is always a good thing. PLUS Australia has so many HEAVY coins... Best to put them away in a coin bank.

A Tiger Moth on the left and a How-The-Heck-Does-This-Fly on the right. Nice WWII lkooking bi-plane huh? As for the one on the right, its for sale or something. But it's missing a rudder and vertical tail plane. No tail. Wait a minute... it's BUILT without those things... How-The-Heck-Does-This-Fly??

My training schedule. It ends on the 50+ week with a marathon/triathlon.  I'll do it! I promise! :D

Italian food night. Notice the massive amounts of Mussels on the table... We had mild for the girls, medium for the boys, and hot for the men. I'm a boy who had lots of mild as well.

Es Teler 77!!! Indonesian food paradise in Singapore... Bak Mee Ayam please!! Alpucat juz please!! Ayam Penyet!!

My out of focus bike that's not been assembled as of yet. Now its fully functional, and it rides nice....
